The mismanagement of the New York Knicks is about more than just basketball. James Dolan is a spoiled brat with zero business acumen. His legacy will consist of botched deals, frivolous spending, and PR nightmares. This man is in no way fit to run the Knicks. Here is a short list of his transgressions:

  • Took a formidable electronics superstore, The Wiz, and bankrupted it. v i a g r a
  • Deprived Cablevision subscribers of the YES Network.
  • Sandbagged Mayor Bloomberg and the NY Jets in their bid for a Westside Stadium. Simultaneously ruined any chance of the Olympics being awarded to NY.
  • Pulled support for his father’s VOOM satellite project.
  • Orchestrated a media cover-up in the wake of his right hand man, Isiah Thomas’ sexual harassment allegation.
  • Unceremoniously fired NY Knicks living legend, Marv Albert. Proceeded to handcuff the rest of the broadcast team.

Dolan is also known for being influential in the departure of Knick greats such as Patrick Ewing, Latrell Sprewell and Jeff Van Gundy. It was Dolan's affinity for the charitable choir boy, Allan Houston, that led to the most offensive contract in Knicks' history. He gladly opened his wallet for a player who never averaged 20 points per game in his career up until that time, but turned a cold shoulder to Patrick Ewing, a certified Knick legend. His allegiance to Isiah Thomas and penchant for spending has set off a course of events that will be hard to recover from. This is a man who was willing to sign-off on a $40M buyout for one season of service from Larry Brown. Whether you thought LB was a good coach or not, there’s no rationalizing burning that much money in a span of seven months.

He endorsed Scott Layden countless times, and has given Thomas carte blanche. Dolan will trade the franchise’s prosperity for an opportunity to be one of the boys. He’s far from Mark Cuban, though he’d have you believe that he’s the toast of the town. Fact is, we all hate you, Jim.

The preceding is just a smattering of Dolan’s blunders. We can also hold him accountable for all the mistakes he allowed his executive employees to make. Let’s also not forget the countless gaffes he’ll make in the future if he’s allowed to remain owner of the Knicks.
